This Blue Waves scallop shell trinket dish is handcrafted from a real Dorset scallop shell and finished with a blue wave design applied using a decoupage technique and handpainted detailing. The edges and back of the shell are hand gilded with liquid gold leaf and the surface is sealed with a crystal-clear glossy resin for shine and durability.
Each shell is individually made in my studio, meaning no two pieces are ever exactly the same. The natural shape of the shell combined with the ocean-inspired artwork makes every piece a unique work of coastal-inspired functional art.

Drawing inspiration from the stunning Dorset coastlines, each dish is individually handcrafted and is a true one-of-a-kind creation.
🛠 Process:
These shells come straight from the beautiful shores of Dorset and the South East coastlines. Once back in my studio, each shell is thoroughly cleaned, scrubbed, and left to air dry. The design is then applied using a decoupage technique, finished with gilded gold leaf, and sealed with a crystal-clear resin to create a glossy, protective surface.
✨ Please note: Due to the natural shells and handmade process, each piece will vary slightly in size, shape, and pattern placement, making your dish completely unique.

My shells are uniquely sealed with a hard wearing gloss epoxy resin which is water resistant but I as a precaution I do not recommend submerging the shells in water and they are not dishwasher safe. Please wipe with a soft cloth.

Your bespoke handcrafted shell comes complete with beautiful gift packaging at no extra charge! I will also provide you with an image of your shell (prior to postage) to save you from unwrapping the shell if you are gifting on to a loved one.
