BRINGING NATURE INDOORS

Drawing inspiration from the stunning Dorset coastlines, every scallop shell is individually handcrafted and transformed into a one-of-a-kind coastal artwork.

PROCESS

The shells are sustainably sourced from Dorset and the South East coastlines before being thoroughly cleaned, scrubbed, and air dried in my Surrey studio.

Once the Japanese Ginkgo floral design has been carefully applied, each shell is hand finished with liquid gold leaf edging and sealed with a crystal-clear gloss resin for shine and protection.

GINKGO FACTS

The Ginkgo biloba tree is often referred to as a “living fossil” and is considered one of the oldest living tree species in the world. In Japanese and Asian culture, the Ginkgo leaf symbolises longevity, peace, resilience, and hope, making these shell dishes especially meaningful as gifts for weddings, anniversaries, and new beginnings.

S H E L L S
Each Oyster or Scallop shell dish will have subtle variations in its natural size and depth and how the decoupage is applied, as every one is individual.

P R E S E N T A T I O N
The shells are wrapped in white tissue paper and are then presented in a natural, branded, sustainable gift box, nestled in white shredded & recycled paper to protect the shell on its journey.

C L E A N I N G Y O U R S H E L L
My shells are uniquely sealed with a hard wearing gloss epoxy resin which is water resistant but I as a precaution I do not recommend submerging the shells in water and they are not dishwasher safe. Please wipe with a soft cloth.

Your bespoke handcrafted shell comes complete with beautiful gift packaging at no extra charge! I will also provide you with an image of your shell (prior to postage) to save you from unwrapping the shell if you are gifting on to a loved one.
