Extra-large oyster shells are especially rare due to the length of time it takes for oysters to naturally reach this size. In cooler UK coastal waters, oysters can take several years to grow to approximately 12–14cm long, making every XL shell a beautifully aged and naturally formed piece of the Dorset coastline.

Their sculptural form, depth, and luminous pearlescence make XL shells particularly sought after for luxury coastal décor and statement jewellery dishes.
