A luxurious natural Spiny Cockle shell, individually hand finished and transformed into an elegant ring and jewellery dish, presented on its own ornate gold metal stand.

With its beautiful natural pearlescence and distinctive sculptural form, the Spiny Cockle is a particularly striking shell. Each one measures approximately 8–9cm wide and 3–4cm deep, with wonderful natural ridges, markings and variations in colour that become even more apparent as the shell catches the light.

The rim of each shell is carefully hand-gilded with liquid gold leaf, while delicate hand-applied gold embellishments are added across the pearlescent interior. The entire shell is then sealed beneath crystal-clear resin, protecting the finish while enhancing the natural lustre of the shell and giving it a beautiful jewel-like gloss.

Each shell is accompanied by its own ornate gold metal display stand, which is also individually finished by hand. The stand is carefully painted to complement the liquid gold leaf and gold detailing on the shell, varnished and then painted again to build up the rich decorative finish. Together, the shell and stand create a beautiful little display piece even when no jewellery is being held within it.
